Plein Air Painting
Join professional painter Ellie Tryon in Havre de Grace, MD
June 17 & 18 - Millard Tidings’ Park
July 15 & 16 - Promenade at Commerce and Strawberry Streets.

You will improve your Plein Air painting skills and learn why painting outdoors is so compelling. Ellie is a member of Arts by the Bay Gallery in town and is a dedicated and patient teacher. The workshop is suitable for ages 11 and up. A lifelong resident of Maryland, Ellie loves exploring the Maryland countryside and painting the beauty of the Mid-Atlantic area. Being creative and sharing her knowledge of the arts is important to Ellie. Her memberships include the Arts By the Bay Gallery, Maryland Portrait Artists, and MidAtlantic Plein Air Painters.
All levels of experience are invited!!
Workshop fee - $125.00 per workshop session per person
NOTE: All registrants will be refunded if the instruction needs to cancel and cannot reschedule.

There is no materials fee, but if anyone needs an easel, I do have a few easels that can be made available. However, I will need to know who needs an easel. Please call me at least a week before the worship.
Materials Supplies for participants to bring - This is painting outdoors, so please ensure you have sunscreen, bug spray, and water.
Paint: White, Naples Yellow, Cadmium or Azo Yellow light, Cadmium or Azo Red light, Alizarin Crimson, Ultramarine Blue, Cerulean Blue, Yellow Ochre, and Burnt Umber. [for oil, bring turpenoid, and painting medium, i.e., Michael Harding Resin Wax medium. For acrylics – water and any acrylic retarding medium]. Surface: Canvas or panel [for beginners, 9 x 12 is a good size], a set each of bristle and soft filament brushes, palette, and a palette knife #43T painter’s edge is an excellent mixing knife.
