Louanne Van Fossen, watercolor artist of Jarrettsville, Maryland is a retired sales, merchandising, and marketing manager for a large Baltimore company who now spends time in her studio creating her art. She also has a dedicated space to mat and frame her work as well as the art of her friends.  Louanne has dedicated 2018 to finding more time to paint and to learn new mediums and techniques.

As a child, Louanne attended art school through Carnegie Mellon University and since then she has attended art classes at Towson High School and Towson University.  Currently, she continues to attend workshops as time allows.  All of this training and talent has paid off because her art has won many awards including Best in Show, First Place, and People’s Choice Award at different times for Harford Art ists’ Association. In addition she has also earned the Ann T. Fields Award for Excellence in Watercolor from Lancaster County Art Association. Louanne also has an Honorable Mention for the April 2014 Baltimore Watercolor Society show.

Outside of art, Louanne keeps herself busy with her large family including 4 children, 8 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and step-children and step-grandchildren.  She also enjoys knitting, reading, playing bridge, and aerobic dancing.
